"There's a lot of different forms of communication, but music is absolutely the purest one, man. There's nothing that could ever be bad about playing music." --Duane Allman |

From GD Monthly Flash No. 23: QUESTION and ANSWER DEPARTMENT Question: In the View From The Vault series, some of the DVDs have graphics and animation that cover parts of the music that we want to watch. Can anything be done to eliminate these graphics ? ?
Answer: For good or ill, the graphics and animation on the Views from the Vault DVDs are embedded in the video masters, and there is no alternate footage with which to cover these graphics. As much as we'd like to replace these graphics with shots of the band, we can't simply create footage that never existed in the first place. We are pleased to say, though, that the upcoming Truckin' Up To Buffalo DVD is void of graphics and animation, and you are left seeing some of the most impressive band interaction and joyfulness that we have on video in the entire vault. Summer tour 1989 featured completely clean video feeds being recorded to tape, so the concerts we have from that tour feature the whole band, and nothing but the band.

Got all the way through the 1/18/70 disc today. There are some nice things going on in this show. It's not stellar but it has it's moments. The harmony singing though, OY! Not good at all.

it's the "bespectacled" and "AP wirereader" (one word on that wirereader) parts that make it art.
BTW, in this instance, does "bespectacled" mean you wear eye glasses, or that your are regularly made a spectacle of?
Just curious. :-)

OK, first of all, I'm not 100 percent in love with your tone right now. |

LDBS: The Pale Pachyderm
I have no idea what that is supposed to symbolize, but I like the sound of it! It suggests some amusing possibilities for the cover art.

Whatever you do, beware of falling into TD's sordid fantasy world. It can be very harmful to your soul. Instead, you should be cleansing your mind and body for the arrival of the LDBS, baby!

Yes. Our Atlantan may have been blinded by the pure white light emanating from the LDBS, and as such has been temporarily disoriented. He'll be fine though- it affects everyone in a different manner....

Man!
It's kinda nice to hear the "come alive" lyric during Sing Me Back Home without Donna's input.

Now that extended format releases (10 CD LDBS) are a reality, I propose a Spring 1990 Box Set representing EVERY NOTE that hasn't been released so far. All of that mind-melting tour in its multitracked glory!

THere's some nice shows there, but FOCUS, please! EUROPE '72! Until that box is released, I don't want to hear any talk about a Spring '90 (or any other tour) box.
