Did someone say "Mindbender"? =^D

I've got a disposition as sweet as April in the Dell. |

They make an excellent twin-guitar team Why do we always need 2 leads or even one for that matter. Weir's enough. Rather hear Kenny than any of the guitarists in attendance. all you would need is one P&F band member and one RatDog member to satisfy both Phil's and Bobby's musical aims, and my vote would go for the Herring/Karan mindbender duo! Reddy's had to had at least two. Don't see him being happy with just one. I'd take Warren over both those guys two as well as Chimenti. How bout: Bobby
Mickey
Billy
Bruce
Warren
Kenny
Melvin
Robin
Hamza

I don't like having two lead guitarists either. One should suffice, but Weir is not the lead, he's the "other one".

My pick...

That would be cool! Be even better if they'd play Vegoose!

The Other Other Ones, or The Ship of Fools.

MG w/ Hornsby would be nice, although JC is as good as it gets

Thanks, Dave.
I hope Aikoberger's predicted/suggested lineup happens. Mike Gordon joining The Other Ones/The Dead would be a fairly significant development in 21st Century Jamband History; I think a lot of people would attend a show or two on this tour just to see Warren and Mike in the same band. And what a superband! Two Rhythm Devils, two RatDoggies, two Allmans, and one Phishie.
Some folks say forget The Dead and just go see the solo bands (don't get me wrong; I just saw Ratdog in Baltimore and thought they were out of sight, incredible), but I ask this: Where else besides these Unity-jam tours am I going to get my Bill Kreutzmann and Friends? Where else am I going to get my real time Rhythm Devils, y'all? I'll be out there with bells on said shoes for this Neo Warlocks band; it is high time for some Rockin' Billy K. dancing on the drumset in a town near me!

From yesterday's Boston Globe: As for the remaining members of the Dead, Lesh says he expects they may play together at another ''Terrapin Station" family weekend next summer at Alpine Valley, Wis., where they held a similar reunion in 2002. And then bring on the Fall Tour, baby!! I hope Bruce Hornsby and Donna Jean McKay will be involved in the Terrapin Station thing. Also: http://www.philzone.org/discus/messages/5/241575.htmlBy Cornjulio (Cornjulio21) (68.161.169.83) on Wednesday, November 16, 2005 - 04:24 pm:
The rumour I heard was that Jimmy was negotiating to be a part of a Furthur Festival next summer with Bobby. Phil got wind and it was not easy. Hence the change. Rumour also has it that Furthur negotiations include Warren (Possibly Mule?) Again this is rumour.

I heard something to this effect at least a month before Jimmy left Phil and Friends from an "Insider". I found it to be plausible considering the lineup at Comes a Time. Hmmmm, maybe Ace and Company are going to use the Furthur format instead of the Other Ones/The Dead format for most of Summer 2006. A " Comes A Time" style event traveling across the States would be a blast. I really like hearing about Jimmy sitting in with RatDog. I was just posting about enjoying seeing that cosmic union in 2002! Hoping for more in 2006, definitely. . .

Well, it's good to see that Bobby appears to have forged relationships with Jimmy and Warren, seeing as they were originally Phil's boys. Maybe Bobby can put together a great Other Ones/Further band for next summer.

You could leave Haynes, Herring, and Scofield out of the mix and I might make a special effort to attend. If you have Weir, the (one[1]!!!) other guitarist should almost certainly be Karan. The Other Ones is what these guys will always be to me.

Hearing ya, Tom! I dig Mr. Karan's playing TOO and thus brainstormed him into a few potential lineups. :-)
